Vanessa, Toni, Helen and Anna met with Keith to primarily ask:
1. Where is the Grow Your Own (GYO) map that the HC Community Food Growing Strategy talks about at? A Highland Council (HC) GIS officer was working on this this time last year - an update would be good. Is this something the HC will/can follow through on or should we go looking for funding to pay for someone else to do it?
Answer: this map doesn't exist. It was going to be created, but then the resource got diverted to Covid issues.
Plus, Keith provided the list of Growing Groups that are known of to the HC + Emma - as part of this Growing Our Future strategy work.
Anna will update these onto the map we have created + will list them in a separate post.
2) Does Keith still have access to the survey monkey results from community consultation last year? Can he share?
Answer: There may be more info on Survey Monkey. Keith will look this out, but it may be gone now.
Additionally we discussed:
- Resourcing: conclusion is that we need a section in our strategy document to include a task that reviews and determines what resource is needed from the HC and externally. Emmas Green Grow project may overlap. (Because we can't have that knowledge by Monday). Idea that we need a focussed resource to be the contact for community groups to dela with e.g. land requests / other resources
- Highlife Highland are already in agreement to look at land use and tool library - Steve Walsh is person to speak with.
- There are 65 responses from the HC GOF document. These will be collated after consult close on 28 Feb. There is broad consensus so not likely to change much. Not sure when final document will be released.
Hope that's all, please add if I've missed anything.
Thanks, Anna
