Feedback from meeting with Emma Thursday 4 Feb

Post by helenstrong »

I had a call with Emma Whitham this afternoon as she'd said a lot of the information that our group was requesting on Monday, i.e. identifying which food growing networks were already out there, had already been collated by her when she was compiling the Growing Our Future document for the Highland Council.

Unfortunately, Emma doesn't have access to much of this information any more as it belongs to HC, so she's sent an email to Josie and Keith to ask them to talk about it in their meeting tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm.

What Emma does have are loads of flipcharts containing brainstormed ideas from info-gathering sessions that she ran at the end of 2019. She's going to take photos of those and upload them on this forum.

She also said that she's the secretary of a new charity called Grow Green, which is in the process of being registered and should be live by April. It's going to be a Scotland-wide project similar to Social Farms and Gardens. If I've understood correctly, it will likely take over much of the previous work of SFG, including the mapping. We could perhaps ask her to say more about Grow Green in the conference on Monday.

Can we ask Emma if all the community food growing groups are actually in the HC Growing Our Future Document? She may remember
Thanks
